Dr. Tedone, you stated in 2015, your daughter tested positive for Lyme. You also stated that once eradicated, the disease process stopped. Two questions, is her disease process still halted, and, if someone is in the beginning stages of this disease, tests positive for Lyme, and eradicates the bacteria, will their ALS progress no further?

In 2015 my daughter tested positive for a Borrelia infection. Treated with antibiotics for over a year her infection was suppressed in 2017. She has not had progression of her illness since then. So the answer to your question is yes the disease will not progress further

In your opinion, do you consider ALS has stopped progressing once there are no muscle twitches? Or can muscles still atrophy without the twitching being present? Thank you

I consider the Borrelia infection to be suppressed when the CD 57 is in the normal range and there are no longer Herxheimer reactions while being treated. All information on the WFND
